for the English version of this article press here Το πυθαγόρειο θεώρημα, άλλοτε γνωστό και ως θεώρημα της εκατόμβης ή κατά τους βυζαντινούς χρόνους αναφερόμενο ως κανών της σκάδρας . ( διευκρίνηση σκάδρα είναι το τετράγωνο) Σε κάθε ορθογώνιο τρίγωνο,το τετράγωνο της υποτείνουσας ισούται με το άθροισμα των τετραγώνων των δύο κάθετων πλευρών Κατά τα γνωστά, θα ξεκινήσουμε με ένα ορθογώνιο τρίγωνο... Τι λέει το θεώρημα; το τετράγωνο   της υποτείνουσας... ε,ας φτιάξουμε ένα τετράγωνο με πλευρά την υποτείνουσα. Φτιάχνουμε τετράγωνο με μήκος πλευράς β+γ Πήραμε τέσσερα ίδια (ορθογώνια) τρίγωνα, τα στρίψαμε με κατάλληλο τρόπο και έτσι στο εσωτερικό δημιουργήθηκε το τετράγωνο της υποτείνουσας, δηλαδή ένα τετράγωνο πλευράς α . Ας βάλουμε λίγο χρώμα τώρα... Δεν άλλαξε κάτι εδώ, έτσι δεν είναι; Ωραία, θα συνεχίσουμε διπλώνοντας τα τρίγωνα απο έξω προς τα μέσα. Γεμίσαμε το τετράγωνο της υποτείνουσας με τέσσερα ίδια τρίγωνα και μας περίσσεψε ακόμα ένα τετράγων...

Let's call that place Weirdpedia.Inside the Weirdpedia, there is this dice table which pays you 2 times your bet if you hit at least once the "one", in four times single dice roll. Maybe the name Chavalier or even Pascal comes up now, if not, thats ok move on. The question is, should we play the game or not? Πυθαγόρεια τριάδα ονομάζουμε κάθε τριάδα αριθμών που επαληθεύει το πυθαγόρειο θεώρημα. (δες εδώ για εποπτική απόδειξη του θεωρήματος) Tρείς φυσικοί αριθμοί (x,y,z) λέγονται πυθαγόρεια ή πυθαγορική τριάδα αν ισχύει η σχέση: $x^2=y^2 + z^2 $ Ήδη απο τα Βαβυλωνιακά χρόνια είναι σήμερα γνωστό ότι οι τότε "σοφοί" είχαν στην κατοχή τους πίνακες με τέτοιες τριάδες. Μια απο αυτές (τις άπειρες) είναι η (3,4,5). Πράγματι ισχύει $ 5^2=3^2 + 2^2 $ εύκολα μπορούμε να δούμε ακόμα μια, την (6,8,10). Παρακάτω όμως πως θα πάμε; Εντάξει αν είμασταν μαύροι σε γαλέρα και μας μαστίγωναν απο το πρωί μέχρι το βράδυ, ίσως και να μας ερχόταν όρεξη να κάτσουμε να ψάχνουμε έναν έναν τους αριθμούς για να τους ταιριάξουμε σε τριάδα. Χρειαζόμαστε κάτι που θα μπορούμε να το χρησιμοποιήσουμε πιο γενικά. Κάπως έτσι πρέπει να σκέφτηκαν και οι πυθαγόριοι και μας μας έδωσαν τον παρακάτω τύπο: ο οποίος ισχύει αν ο k είναι περιττός. Word comes from an alteration, in astronomer's Mohammed ibn Musa al-khowarizmi book, named Al-jabr w'almuqabala (around 825a.C.) There is also a misunderstanding that Algebra was invented by Arabs. That's not true. Book's Αριθμητικά (means arithmetics in Greek) by Diofantos contribution in Algebra was analogous to Elements of Euclides in Geometry. The Arabs Mathematicians, taking the wheel from Greeks, played a decisive role in the later progress of Algebra and generally in the unity called Mathematics. At theirs many ways contribution should be noticed the large amount of translations that they did from Greek, which is the reason than many of them survived, even though the actual prototypes are missing. What today we call western civilization, is a road which has many turns and stops in it...

(click here for the English article ) Αρκετοί άνθρωποι, ακόμα και σχετικοί ως προς το αντικείμενο, νομίζουν ότι η λέξη Άλγεβρα είναι ελληνική, κάτι το οποίο είναι ανακριβές. Η λέξη προέκυψε απο παραφθορά ενός βιβλίου με τίτλο Al-jabr w'almuqabala . Όπως υποψιαζόμαστε απο τον τίτλο ο συγγραφέας του είναι αραβικής καταταγωγής. Το έγγραψε γύρω στο 825μ.Χ. ο αστρονόμος Mohammed ibn Musa al-khowarizmi. Ακόμα μια παρανόηση που υπάρχει είναι ότι την Άλγεβρα την εφηύραν οι Άραβες. Ούτε και αυτό είναι αληθές στερεοτυπικά. Τα Αριθμητικά του Διόφαντου υπήρξαν για το κλάδο της Άλγεβρας, ότι είναι τα Στοιχεία του Ευκλείδη για την Γεωμετρία. Οι Άραβες μαθηματικοί , παραλαμβάνοντας την σκυτάλη απο τους αρχαίους Έλληνες, έπαιξαν καθοριστικό ρόλο στην μετέπειτα εξέλιξη της και εν γένη των μαθηματικών από πολλές απόψεις. Στην γενικότερη συνεισφορά των Αράβων, πρέπει να σημειωθεί και ο μεγάλος όγκος μεταφράσεων που έγιναν απο τα ελληνικά, αιτία που διασώθηκε μεγάλο κομμάτι εξ'αυτών παρότι...

In any right-angled triangle, the square whose side is the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares whose sides are the two legs (the two sides that meet at a right angle) Let's begin with a right angle square (side α is the hypotenuse) What does the theorem states? The square   of the hypotenuse... so we will create a square whose side is equal to the hypotenuse. We make a square with side length β+γ. We got four same triangles, we rotated them in a proper way and so in the inner  a new square appears. This square has side length equal to the hypotenuse. Nice, at this point let's make our shape a bit more colorful. At this step, nothing has changed.Isn't that right? Well, now we will fold the triangles inside...
